Ordering & Analyzing Multispectral Images

You can view and analyze multispectral imagery in the G-EGD viewport when you order 8-band SWIR archive imagery for delivery to the carousel. (Available at zoom level 13 or higher.)

Ordering 8-Band Imagery

  1. Do one of the following, depending on the part of the interface you are using:

    • Carousel Select the Catalog Filter icon , then select DG Archive.
    • Map Options Menu In the Catalog Filter drop-down, select DG Archive.
  2. From the Image Menu in the Carousel or the Advanced Search interface, add the image(s) you want to analyze to your cart. See Ordering Archive Imagery.
  3. In the Add Image to Cart dialog, do the following.

    1. In the Deliver To drop-down list, select one of the following options to ensure proper delivery of your images:

      • Online Carousel Deliver the image to your Carousel for further analysis using the Choose Bands function. See Choosing Bands for Images.
      • Library Deliver the image to your Library to download it.
    2. Complete the rest of the fields in the Add Image to Cart dialog, then select Add to Cart.
  4. In your cart, select Submit Order to complete your order.

Viewing Ordered 8-Band Imagery in the Carousel

  • When your imagery is available for viewing, you will see multi-spectral thumbnails labeled Multiband in the Carousel. Select any image to view it.

Choosing Bands for Images

If you ordered 8-band imagery to your Online Carousel, you can choose the bands you want to use to analyze those images.

  1. In the Carousel, select the multiband image(s) you want to analyze.

    The Catalog Filter must be set to Online to view imagery you have ordered for the Carousel.

  2. Do one of the following, depending on your Carousel orientation:
    • If your Carousel is Horizontal In the With Selected drop-down menu, select Choose Bands.
    • If your Carousel is Vertical Select the drop-down arrow , then select Choose Bands.

    The Choose Bands dialog opens.

  3. In the Choose Bands dialog, select the option you want to apply to analyze the available SWIR bands.

  4. Select Apply to load a false color composite of the selected image into the viewport. The image appears in the viewport with the selected category and color bands.

Some buttons in the Carousel are turned off when viewing the image with bands applied.
