Rotating Images

At zoom level 13 or higher, you can rotate selected images to get the best view of a location.

  1. In the Carousel, select the image(s) that you want to rotate. See Working with Imagery in the Carousel.
  2. Do one of the following, depending on your Carousel orientation:

    • If your Carousel is Horizontal In the With Selected drop-down menu, select Rotate Image.
    • If your Carousel is Vertical Select the drop-down arrow , then select Rotate Image.

    The viewport switches to rotate mode, and you will see only the tools available when rotating an image.

Compass Rose

Select the arrows to rotate the viewport 90°. Select N to reset the rotation. The angle of rotation is shown at the bottom of the compass rose.

Hover over the compass rose for help text, including the hot keys to manually rotate the viewport.

Snapshot

Take a picture of the current viewport. The compass rose and any annotations are included in your snapshot. Product options are limited to JPEG and PowerPoint. See Taking a Snapshot.

3Exit

Select Exit to return to the standard viewport.

Coordinates

View the coordinates at your mouse cursor's position. Select the drop-down arrow to switch between Lat/Lon decimal degrees (the default), Lat/Lon degrees/minutes/seconds, Military Grid Reference System (MGRS), and Degrees Decimal Minutes. See Using Map Coordinates.

More Information

  • If you selected a single image in the Carousel, you can pan and zoom within the extent of the image while in Rotate Image mode.
  • Annotations are available in Rotate Image mode. You can add annotations when rotating an image in the same way as you would to an image in the regular viewport. If you take a snapshot of an image that has had annotations added to it, the annotations are preserved. See Taking a Snapshot.
