Adding Imagery to the Library

You can save several types of images to your library: a full image, a mashup (a collage over a defined AOI up to 10,000 km2, or 100,000km2 if created from a project), a snapshot (a collage of the selected imagery in your viewport at zoom level 13 or higher), a movie, or a tileset.

Expand the drop-downs to learn how to add each type of imagery to your library.

More Information

  • If the image you are downloading includes an intersecting Vivid Mosaic, you will see a warning. Vivid Mosaics are read-only, and are labeled in the Carousel and identified in the image metadata. You will need to select a different image for download. If you have a mission requirement for a Vivid Mosaic, please contact ngaegdadmin@nga.mil.

  • When you save any of these image types, the image creation process continues even if you log out; you can log in later and download the image. After the image has been created, the file is listed in the library, including its file name, creation timestamp, file size, and download link.
  • Saving uses a first-in-first-out model; your request is queued behind any other requests in the system. Your request could take only a few minutes to complete, or it might take longer, depending on request activity.
